Hi to One and All,
I would like to set up a test environment from prod. Please give me procedure step-by-step.
Orac version = 10.2.0.2
OS == Windows XP Professional
Instance is running on SPFILE
ORACLE_HOME = F:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
SPFILE location is F:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\dbs
Please make it clear that i have only prod database installed.
UDUMP = F:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\prod
Only Prod DB is installed at F:\ and i have free space at D:\

STEP-1:
Create controlfile :1-alter database create controlfile to trace;
2-Take Hot backup or coldbackup as You can do.
3.Copy thease backup on ur test enviorment and set the Path as your Production Envirment.
4.copy the control file script from Production to TEst and chang Reset and Noarchive log instet of archive log.
5.Recover database.
6.Apply the Archlog as its asking.
7.Alter database open reset log.
