 Hi,

I have some big table(50 millions of records) that are not partitioned in a production HP-UX Server with Oracle 9i database. I am thinking of partitioning them. Because there is not much time avaiable, I need to do it in as little time as possible. Please advince what is the best strategy to implement for an existing tables which does not have partitions which cannot used by export/import there is any another method to do this. Thanks in advance.

First you have to decide which partition method you want to use.
and there is so many sites and references on net for example.

Hi,

DBMS_REDEFINITION is useful when table will go from a non-partitioned table to a partitioned table

http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Oracle/DBA_tips/Database_Administration/DBA_43.shtml#The%20DBMS_REDEFINITION%20PL/SQL%20Package

and @ramesh_oss

It's really rude behavior in forum. If you know anything then you can post it here. it is not a starting point of discussion. You may or may not agree with my arguments, but this won't change my point.
