 Dear Friends, I have created table , with maxextents 10....but
sql>create table emp1 (empno number(4),ename varchar2(30))
tablespace data02 storage (initial 100k
next 100k pctincrease 0 minextents 8 maxextents 10);

Instead of showing maxextents 10 extents its showing something different, does anyone know about this problem....

sql>select segment_name, segment_type,max_extents, extents, tablespace_name from dba_segments where segment_name='EMP1';

SEGMENT_NAME SEGMENT_TYPE MAX_EXTENTS EXTENTS TABLESPACE_NAME
------------ ------------ ----------- ------- ----------------
EMP1 TABLE 2147483645 8 DATA02

Hi Kaiz,

Your tablespace is LMT and you can confirm it by this query

SELECT tablespace_name, extent_management, segment_space_management FROM dba_tablespaces

With LMT...Storage clause in table is not iffective..storage parametes of LMT will only iffective.

SELECT tablespace_name, initial_extent, next_extent, min_extents, max_extents,pct_increase min_extlen, status, CONTENTS, LOGGING, extent_management,allocation_type FROM dba_tablespaces

so max_extents is coming from above query
