hi,
i m seting up data guard using 10g, and i follwoed all the steps &
when i write the command
SQL> alter database open read only ;
alter database open read only
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-16004: backup database requires recovery
ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\STANDBY\SYSTEM01.DBF'
i hav read all the help related to this error but problem still not solved.

Need more archive log. The same error i faced in env. I think problem is your primary and standby database destination archive log problem.
Please check your alert log in both env.

i have checked the problem but wt i c there that i m not getting archiving on my standy location, primary dtabase making archiveing in his location but not in standby server?
can u tell me all the parameters list of primary & standby server.
plz try to solve this problem.
