Hi,
Can any body tell me advatages and disadvatages large tables? Suppose table has 100 columns and growth of the data is around 8 lacs records per year. Also expected growth of table is 10% per year. Upto 8 yrs history data would be hold in this table. Not all columns will have data per rows. i.e. set of columns will have data and rest would be blanks depending upon certain conditions. Data access also depend upon these conditions. What would be more efficient? having multiple tables for each condition which will reduce data volumes 1 lacs records per tables per year or storing data in one table having 100 columns? What would be impact of performance in both cases?
