Hi,
In Oracle earlier versions Redo lof Files extension used as '.rdo'
But now a days they genrate with the default extension as '.log'.
I read a article on oracle site, one expert says always named your Redo log
extension as '.rdo' not '.log'. For the security reasons.

Generally system administrators writes scripts to delete LOG files periodically from the entire server. And redolog files are important for Oracle database. To avoid this problem,it's advisable to give extension of .rdo instead of .log
