Hi All,
I have Oracle7 on SCO Unix platform. The rollback segment datafile
is corrupted and no archivelogs are present. I tried to delete the file/
made another file/putting it in offline mode and recover but all in vain.
Any suggestions?

No idea about Oracle 7 !!!

Hi,
Remove same rollback segment name from init.ora parameter rollback_segments. After restart the database take offline same rollback segment and drop it. If still you have problem (if you were creating public rollback segment,because public rollback segment automatically online after restart database). In this situation you should take help of hidden parameter like _OFFLINE_ROLLBACK_SEGMENTS.
