I want to drop a single datafile from a tablespace.
what procedure should i follow?

Hi,
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'file_name' OFFLINE DROP;
Or
ALTER TABLESPACE tablespace_name DROP DATAFILE 'file_name'

In above second command won't work prior of Oracle 10g.
