Dear friends ,
Is it necessary to take Redo log backup ?
Normally when we take a database backup then we dont take the redo log file backup ? Can anyone plz explain me why we do this ?
And If I want to take redo log file backup then using which command I can take it (both in RMAN backup and export backup utility) ? |

In short answer: No need.
If your using HOT backup method with User Managed or RMAN "redo log backup" is not include in backup script becuase database running in ARCHIVELOG mode and we take archivelog backup
If your using COLD backup method then you can also avoid REDOLOG file backup and during recovery RECREATE all redolog file with "UNTIL CANCEL" option and start redolog switch with sequence 1.
Regards
Taj
