Hello,
I have a database with 30gb, and used 20gb.and it's noarchive mod. when i am taking a backup using export utility it took 8gb space. but when i am taking backup using Rman it took 20gb space. can someone tell why it's like that.I know there are lot of benifit with rman but why the space wise the rman take backup only used block up to 20gb. how about export backup take 8gb instead of 20gb.

Rman is backup of data blocks vs export is just the data. Since your database used space is 20 GB so RMAN is backing up all the data blocks that are being used. RMAN is better tool to backup and restore. It is fast as well. You can find articles if you are interested to know more about RMAN.
There is one article written by John Niveth. You can find it at the following url.

Export utility just gets the data and stores it in different format. That is why you see export size is smaller than RMAN backup.
Hope it helps.
