Hi,
Can any one help in this issue.
I am practising RMAN at my home PC on linux. I opened a terminal and open a target database. and opened another terminal and changed sid name and opened catalog database. I configured listener and tnsnames.ora properly. By using Rman I have taken backup.
After that I removed Controlfiles, Redolog Files, and Datafiles in Target Database. Now I tried to recover from catalog database. When I tried to open the Target Database in nomount state at RMAN prompt in catalog database. I have given the following errror.
ORA-12505 : TNS listener does not currently know of SID given in Connect Descriptor.
What mistage I have done. Can any one tell me.

Change TNSNAMES.ORA file from SID to SERVICE_NAME.
