 i need to install rh es linux and later oracle. now when it comes to mantally partitioning, it says that no device found and that i should get the drivers. am using a 160gb sata hdd and partitioned into 3; 1 for win, personal data and 40gb for linux. is it because its a sata hdd or what? coz when i use an ide hdd, its working good. pliz help. thanks.

Yes because of sata.

try to use redhat 4 update 4 or update 6 this issue is resolved.(I prefer redhat 4 update 6)

or you can get the driver and load it before partitioning.
