 Hi,

Suppose i am taking online Bkp at 5.00PM . I will backup mode.
At same time some users are updated a datafile,at 5.02PM one user is also updating same datafile.

In that backup i will update to that users data are not?
What is interally happening?

yes you can change a datafile when you are in backup mode and internally all the changes are stored in the redolog file. so you should have enough redo space or you should take the file in backup mode when there are less no. of transactions happening in the database.

hello venkat,

While you are taking online backup, Users can still be connected to database and work as usual.
When the database is normal mode then only changes made to the database are stored in redo.
but in online backup, the data regarding changes along with the data to be changed is also stored. That is the reason more redo is generated when in online backup mode.
