When a tablespace is under backup mode, what happens to the users who have already logged in trying to run a select quary.
Can new user login to the database when any tablespace is in backup mode ?
Can we reade any trace file using wordpad in windows ?

Hi
There is no impact on user connections when a ts is in begin backup mode. They can do all DML with comfort.

There is no problem to users who are logged in they can select and perform DML operations also .
The only problem is that there will be excessive redo so the performance will go down .
New users can log in .

No problem........to the users...
only more redos generated. performance will be slow.

Users who are establishing fresh connections wont be affected.Backup is inconsistent.
incrmental backups is used for this purpose.
