hi, i am facing one problem .when i used to take a export back up its size was nearly 20 mb but now a days it shriks to 12 mb.i have not deleted any data,table,tablespace or anything .can anybody tell me how come it automatically shrinks? i give 'exp system/manager filename.dmp full=y'
command from client machine.

Hi,
Did you done any Comparisons from Older backup & New Backup. Put your new backup online & older one & compare First.

thanks avnish for the quick reply.though the back up size got smaller but the normal functioning of application is going fine.and all the data is available.and cold back up size is as it is.

Hi,
Please check your log file when you have last backup & Compare it with 20MB size backup's log file. or Are you using DATAPUMP?

Hi,
Please forward you complete command lines which you are using for backup now. & Also forward send your command line which you are using when your database backup is 20MB in size.

Hi,
If your using DATAPUMP (Oracle 10g EXPORT) then it will automatically shrink some of size of your backup file.
