Hi This is Ramesh i have one doubte , what is the data gaurd ? and how many types of stadan by data base? , for example of u r database is runing in stand by datababse ,by you will use what softweare using you will copy the the archive logs from production to stand by database , and how many ways is availabule ways for copying of archives, means any third part soft weare is avilabule ,? pls give me clear infomeation of stand by database and data gaurd

Oracle Data Guard is the management, monitoring, and automation software that works with a production database
and one or more standby databases to protect your data against failures, errors, and corruptions that might otherwise
destroy your database.
There are Only Two Kind Of standby Databases that's Physical & Logical.
