Whats the most efficient way to becoming a Oracle DBA- Database Administrator?
Theres a program close by that does 4 months (weekends) of hands on instructor led training of SQL + Oracle Database Administration to get ready for Oracle DBA certification and it costs 3500. They also have job placement through their recruitment network. They say that DBA's in the area make about 45k starting out but most ads I ever see ask for five years experience. This sound like a good way to go. I would hate to self study this one. But would if thought it would be almost just as easy. I am in the Atlanta area
Any Oracle DBA here to say how long it should take to learn SQL/Oracle DBA well enough to get paid for it? |

Hi Chris,
Oracle is a very vast chapter and no one has learnt the full oracle. To get into the real world of Oracle, you have to spend atleast three months to know what is oracle. Also, It is recommended that you have to get a training from an experienced DBA not in any training centre where most of the centre won't feed you the real essence of basic oracle. Would like to know if you have any queries..
