hi

if there is someone available for inserting/taking out the tapes as per required, and all the other areas like network, access to the 3rd party software are ok, then you can take the backup hust by using the software

thanks

Hi Babu,

Ofcourse you can take backup of your database from the remote system. To do this you should have the respective previlage. For eg, exp/imp you should have exp_full_database.. etc. Previlage depends on the backup type you gonna use. The types of backup are:

Hot backup
cold backup
Export and Import
RMAN

Hi Gopu,

I'm asking, is it possible to take any kind of backup ( Hot or Cold Backup). I'm logging into server which is in USA from India by using Oracle client with admin privileges.

Hi Babu,

Please note that from where ever you connect either from your home r offshore office r onsite place. First, you will be authenticated and will establish connection to the respective database. Once, you have connected to the database no matter that were you are, you can perform all the operations depends on your previliage in the databases you have connected to.

Regards.
