I have three databases named xyz, pqr and mno in default location, oradata folder of oracle.
Let's say pqr would be loaded as a default one.
I need to work on windows environment:
Now I want to start the xyz database.
As I used to changed environment variable ORACLE_SID=xyz from command prompt before starting sqlplus in Linux and if started the sqlplus it could load the xyz database.
Suppose, all the services are running at the background in windows XP.
I have loaded the command prompt and issue set ORACLE_SID=xyz and started the sqlplus, still it loads same database mno.
Anybody, what's the step I missed here.
