what is major differences between SQL SERVER 2000 & Oracle 9i database.

Oracle is available on many different platforms like Unix, Sun, Linux and Windows.
SQL server 2000 is only on MS-windows.
Pl/Sql(oracle) more powerful than T-SQL(sql server 2000).
More fine tuning can be performed via startup parameters.
Sqlserver is cheaper to buy than oracle.
sqlserver is generally accepted as easy to install and manage.
