I have tow Sun FIRE 880s .One is operating(Lets call it A) and another one(Let us call it B) is not.
The one operating(A) is in different location and I have access to it and It was not configured right. Root disk was not partitioned right. /var, /opt, /usr file systems are very small and they are 90% full and solaris 8 was running on it.
I would like to well configure the one which is idle(B)with root disk mirrored and having a spare disk too. including loading Solaris 9 and etc. Make it exactly like the one which is operational(A). And remove these disk from Idle(B) after making it exactly like A and ship to the location whare A is and remove the old system disk and replacing with the new disks. I want everything back like that was in A. We will be using Sun Volume Manager(Solistice disksuite).
Has anyone done this kind of set up , If yes, How it was done?
Could you please give steps to do this.
Please help me.
I hope I have explained it clear.
Otehrewise please feel free to ask me.
Thanks
