What you issue the SQL statement at SQL prompt & what happens internally?
What is the difference between lack and latches?
How do you estimate extent size in tablespace?

The folloing statement can used for checking tablespace fragmentation.
select a.tablespace_name, a.bytes sbytes,
sum(b.bytes) fbytes, count(*) kount
from dba_data_files a, dba_free_space b
where a.file_id = b.file_id
A large no. of free chunks indicate that the tablespace needs to be defragmented.
