hi all,
am swathi joined this group today...well i have just passed out a few months ago just a fresher...is it apt for me to take up this OCA exam?
or is it that we need to have any prior experience in dba etc?? i would also like to get some suggestions whether i should be going for 10g or 9i

as a fresher u can start from 10g.
for oca u no need to have any experience in dba.

Hi Swathi,
as a fresher its good to start with Oracle.
i am also fresher and currently working as a Linux Admin and also studying for DBA.
u can get sample papers of Oracle 10 G.

I want to do OCA in Developer Track, plz tell me should i go for Oracle 9i or 10g. If 10g, then tell me how should i go for the preparations and what are the books that i need to consult for this? If you have any course material then plz sent it to my mail id rajesh_bu2001@yahoo.co.in

But Jayanta, in oracle 10g there is no Developer Track certification as there is in 9i. In Oracle 10g there is only dba track cetification. So I m a bit confused pls clarify.

the dba track is common for both 10g, and 9i, and i did not notice that u want ur certification in developer track. sorry.so in ur case version doesnot matter.
