Always just post the complete error message (copy & paste. Verbatim).

AMD AthlonXP 2600+ (~2.08 GHz)
MSI motherboard. FSB is 333 MHz
Upgraded to 1 GB [333 MHz]RAM (as it was the minimum specified)
Allocated 17 GB for RHEL partition (rest Windows)
If you can state the exact error, it would be helpful in resolving it.
Try following the instructions present in the previously pasted URL.

Having a 80 GB hard disk, I allocated 17 GB for RHEL from Windows using a third party software called 'Partition Magic v8.02' (its an excellent software where you can resize drives, change the format, all without losing data). The format for the Linux partition should be in ext3 format and a swap space of twice RAM size (for you, 512 MB). This is entirely done in Windows. During the installation of RHEL v4 AS, in the Disk Partitioning Setup section, select 'Remove all Linux partitions' and proceed.
It is recommended to have 1 GB RAM because during the installation of Oracle 10g, a warning is notified (can be bypassed).
Regards,
Arvind

By the way, an additional partition of 100 MB is required for /boot (also done with 'Partition Magic v8.02').
