When using the ORAPWD utility, i understand about the other parameters associated with it.With Parameter password i have a problem with it. Is it a password to be used by all the admins who are connecting to the database remotely or what?
Please clarify for me with details.

the password parameter is used to specify the password, to authenticate those with sysdba privs, using password file.

In ORAPWD, password parameter is used to define password for first default user i.e. sysdba

The parameter just tells the password for user sys which will be connected as sysdba

The ORAPWD utility overrides the existing Password of the SYS to the new one ,used for creating the password file.
