How do you determine the number of entries to enter in the parameter 'entries' of the database file? Is it the number od admins to have or both the admins and the non-admins?

u can set it for maximum users enjoying sysdba privs.
if in future it falls short, u may recreate the password file without any problem.cheers!

Hi Tony,
If entries = 2
then max 5 sysdba and sysopen users you can create. It works like
entries =2 meaning (2 entries for sysdba+ 2 entries for sysopen + 1 sysdba default entries)
for eg. if entries = 3 then (3 entries for sysdba + 3 entries for sysopen + 1 default for sys user = 7)
here suppose, entries = 2
1. scott user > privilages sysdba + sysoper (it is treated as single entry)
2. tins user > privilages sysdba (it is also treated as one entry)
I guess you are cleared now.
Thanks,
Tina K.

Tony,
One more matter to say, if your entriesar reached at deadline (i.e. entries=2, hence max user is 5), so if you want to create 6th dba user then you need to recreate the password file.
Thanks,
Tina K.
