I have gone through all the possible web sites to find out "number of instances running on Windows XP/2000, but to no avail.
I am using Oracle 9i and i have already posted the same question before but didnt get answer, I hope this time I will get answer.

hi Vikhardba,
to know how many instance on Windows what you need to do is just open up services.msc in the start->run box. Notice the service that start with OracleServiceXXX where XXX is the service name.
