Sai,
At OS level, just check the size of ur datafiles. At the SQL level, u can run this query
select sum(bytes)/1024/1024/1024 from v$datafile. This gives the overall size of the datafiles used in GB.

ls -lhtr on one by one directory no other specific method.

Hi,
Database size : Database size include all .dbf , .ctl , .log file size.
at OS level : all DBF files + all CTL files + all LOG files
