hi
Friends Any ony give me suggestion that
what is diffrence of gather statistic through dbms_stats package or Analyze commands.
If Optimizer mode is Choose or we allready gather a table statistics through Analyze command so Execution plan is CBO or RBO.

i read somewhere ...dbms_stats is able for parallel data gathering and block sampling ...something like that

i am just asking about that if i gathered statistics through analayz command than execution plan is cost base or not.

Hi,
Oracle Corporation recommended gather database schema regularly.
through two method we can gather statistics
1.dbms_stats package
2.Analyze command
Oracle Corp recommended method is "dbms_stats" it is more accurate or efficient.

that is if we taken statistics through analyze command then optimizer mode is CBO or not
