hi,
control files holds the information of status and structure of
datafile and redolog files so if we lost the control file
then our database will not work so for that reason we doing
multiplexing
multiplexing means we keeping the copies control files on different
different locations

Hi
Actually if we multiplex controlfiles that is if we save copies of controlfiles in different disks then it helps in the performance of the database as the controlfiles gets updated every now and then when we alter databases or modify databases. So in a large IO activity we multiplex it to have a better performance.
