| After a password file is created using orapwd facility, how it is being used to login to the database ? can any one tell with an example. |

As you mentioned that you created the Password file using orapwd utility.Like Orapwd files.. entries[].
Now you have to shutdown and then again restart your database and then only it will be able to recognise the new password file and work properly.

So then i can use the password which was defined in the orapwd file and use this password for logging into the database for a particular user who has been added into the database such as
sqlplus usrname/password where password is the password set in the orapwd file ?
