We have got oracle 9i on linux. Our database is having three control files control01.ctl,control02.ctl, control03.ctl. In morning, when we checked the system, oracle is not starting. It is giving error message error in reading control file control02.ctl. As per Oracle documentation, we copied control03.ctl to control02.ctl, we also commented the control02.ctl line in our init.ora file. We cannot copy this control02.ctl file also.
When we run the oracle service, it is showing the error, ora-00333. What is this. We want to take the backup of our data, it is very important, it is showing the error oracle initalization or shutdown in progress. Same is coming for sqlplus.
What to do ?
Help, it is urgent.. |

Hi,
1. connect to "sysdba" user.
2. you have also received "ORA-00333" redo log error message.
do you have valid copy of redo log backup if yes restore and recover.
3. remove control02.ctl file path from init<sid>.ora file and create new spfile from init<sid>.ora file
or
Create new control file
