| When do we get lot of i/o wait and what are the views to check it? What could be the reason for this & how can we resolve this? |

At the os level you can check for the statistics concerned with database with iostat, vmstat ( virtual memory statistics) top , prstat etc.
In oracle level we can go for statspack, OEM, Quest etc. This occurs when large activities is going on the database , some cron concerning backups are going on, some schedule jobs are running etc. There are lot of v$ views like v$librarycache, some advice like v$db_cache_advice etc.
