| What are the initial things we should check if DML statements are slow in my database? And how to resolve this issue? |

A lot of things has to be taken care of. The DML statement which is been issued madifying how many records, Whether the statement is cached or not
whereby some io issues are there are not. if large DML operation is going on then we should commit it. Try to get some hit ratios and see the statspack report, it will give a better indepth idea.

Failing to set ASSM, freelists or freelist_groups for DML-active tables and indexes can cause very slow DML performance.
