  Hi everyone,

I am still relatively new to database administration but would like to take my career in the direction of an Oracle DBA one day. I have started by researching and practicing SQL and PL/SQL and have booked an Oracle course for early next year which will supposedly cover all the topics needed for the certification exam. I was just wondring if any experienced Oracle or any other DBA's could give me some advice on what to research, whats important, whats not, and generally any tips on taking my new career direction forward! Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Mark

Hi,

I would recommend that you learn to become an Apps-DBA. There is a lot of work in this field, and the payments are good.
If you have any qustions on this, do not hesitate to contact me.
In the mean-while, maybe these books may help you starting with the first steps in Oracle Applications:

Just mail me if you have any questions on the books,
