Hi, I did my O.C.P a month ago and now looking for a job. I need to know what are the basic things or the first things to look at when you go a real administration scenarios. What should one look first or know what categorizing them with the security,tuning etc in such a given database. DBAs have diffrent styles of administration but there must be the basic or the root things that the DBAs look first when they come to such a database for the first time.
Please i do need a little help here.

Good, With OCP u can have ther'cl knowledge.
When u start career as DBA Initailly u may do installations and Admin related task. be good in unix commands and scripting.Dont do drop or delete operations without backup.
2 domains on prod and dev work will be depends on u will be PROD dba or DEV dba. Any way Enjoy as a DBA
