Alert Log File also gives the information about which thread instance is using..... Whats the meaning of thread?

Thread is dependent process,in your case when your working on multithreded server,multiple users works on the single db instance to organize the user pool each thread assoiciate with one user so,user IO can be monitor with respective thread ID
any concern let me know
