Hi
as i am new to oracle and stepping in to DBA and decided to get oracle9i certification ,guys will you please tel me will oracle9i be valid if i do that and be a dba in same , since there is oracle10g now in market.

Oracle 9i still valid and you can take but it is advisable to go for oracle 10g or 11g certification.
All certification is valid suppose if you have oracle 8i certification this also valid yet. but always go with latest release certification.

no software gets outdated yaar
now you are saying it 10g in the market, and in the comming year it wil be oracle 11, dont bother just get in,
one thing i want to say is that the base or the functionality is the same the versions are made with the same funda's adding some new featues.
they don't get into other domain.
any basic knowledge(of lower versions) will defenately help u.

Hi 11g is out now.
If you want to start your career as a DBA may be start with 10g.That should be a quick start.
