All,
During the startup of primary database i'm getting the below mentioned error message .Please help me in resolving this error .
In the DataGuard environment, primary database startup failed with following error.
SQL>startup
Database mounted.
ORA-03114: end-of-file on communication channel
You may see following errors in he primary Alert.log:

Database mounted in Exclusive Mode.
Completed: ALTER DATABASE MOUNT

LGWR: Primary database is in CLUSTER CONSISTENT mode
LGWR: Primary database is in MAXIMUM AVAILABILITY mode
LGWR: Destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3 is using asynchronous network I/O
LGWR: Destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 is using asynchronous network I/O
LGWR: Destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 is not serviced by LGWR

Errors in file /u01/app/oracle/product/9.2/admin/orcl/bdump/orcl_lgwr_1794142.trc:
ORA-16072: a minimum of one standby database destination is required
LGWR: terminating instance due to error 16072

Hi Ajith ,
Most likely cause for this error is ,primary LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 was not in sync with the Standby protection mode.
eg:-
log_archive_dest_2 = SERVICE=orcl1 LGWR ASYNC NOAFFIRM
log_archive_dest_3 = SERVICE=orcl2 LGWR ASYNC NOAFFIRM
Please set the Primary Init.ora parameter log_archive_dest_<n> correctly (at least for one standby destination) in sync with the standby Protection mode..
Requirements for Maximum Protection and Maximum Availability modes :
- Redo archival process: LGWR
- transmission mode: SYNC
- Disk write option: AFFIRM
OR
Change the Protection mode to Maximum performance
