 Dear Friends,
When I am trying to connect to the sid database which I had created at the time of Installation of oracle 9i, I am able to connect through OEM but when I am trying to connect through Command Prompt using SQLPLUS I am not able to connect I am getting this error..Ora-12560 : TNS: Protocol adapter error, servie is started...but still when I am giving on the command prompt net start oracleserviceNAME it is giving me the error the service name is invalid.....On the contrary when I created a new Database using DBCA I am able to connect from both OEM as well as from Dos prompt using Sqlplus .....
Please if any one can solve this proble...
With regards....

Did you try restarting OracleservicesDBNAME from services.msc window? If yes, try to set ORACLE_SID==SIDNAME and then type sqlplus "/as sysdba" from DOS prompt.
