 Is it possible to display two or more languages( lke japanese,korean,chinese ) at same time in a single instance of database ?

our platform is RedHat linux

yes it's possible.
first make sure that the languages you want are installed in your redhat.
and then use a multibyte and superset character set which satisfy your needs.
Example. AL16UTF16 which in one unicode character can be 2 to 4 bytes in this encoding.
Characters from both European (including ASCII) and most Asian scripts are represented in 2 bytes.
Supplementary characters(I hope you know it) are represented in 4 Bytes.

hi,

thanks for reply

i tried to set it for my console using locale i.e.
set LC_ALL=ja_JP.utf8

this doesnt work for shell prompt, for gui it works
i want to do it for shell also.

also i have to make the terminal compatible for three languages
i.e. japanese,chinese,korean

i am new to administration :(

i will be thankful, if u provide me a detailed description..
