 Hi All,

I am getting an opportunity to work as an Oracle DBA Level -1 support in a reputed MNC.

I do not have any prior DBA experience, would highly appreciate if anybody can explain being a Level-1 DBA support what will be my daily duties.

Also kindly explain what duties do the Level II and Level III DBA perform.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
MH

According to the experience and expertise now a days DBA are bounded into three levels
L1,L2,L3

L1 - that is Level 1 ,nothing but the first step in the industry as a DBA.
where you need to support your seniors and the minimal riski jobs like checking logs and report to the seniors.

L2 - this is the next level in heirar ,where you will be in between the senior dba and junior one,and you need to react on the problem catch by the L1.the other jobs are writing some scripts, taking backup, monitoring performance.

L3 - now a days HRs are categorising the senior dba as L3 .that is the last in the tree.the senior DBAs are nothing but the architect of database.

to start in the field of dba L1 is good.
