Topic: Database Administration >> Name given for the log directory is invalid.

 When i give startup command with sysdba priv, getting following error message:

ora-02778 Name given for the log directory is invalid.

OS = Win 2003 Enterprise Edition
Version = Oracle 10.2.0.2

Hi,

One of the log dirs in your parameter file is not correct.
Check the alert log file to find out that directory.

Thanks for your response. Issue is resolved.

Database is configured on SAN storage environment but the drive was disabled and not shown in OS and due to this i was getting above mentioned error message.

Soln: I opened the server and enabled it. Once the drive letter shown, automatically database got up, when i gave startup command at SQL>

About checking the alert log file, they was nothing shown in alert log file. Anywayz thanks a lot and sorry for the delay in response.
