Hi,
I am going to start the job on 1st of Feb, can someone advice me what to do on the first i.e. what need to know about the running databases.

on which role Application DBA or Production DBA ?
on which position Senior DBA or Junior DBA ?
Anyway,On the first day you need to collect All Passwords (Oracle,OS) information,Backup documentation i.e. Backup location,frequency..If your DBA has met with any disaster/errors then this documentation or at least steps.
Role of each and every database in your Organiztion.
If you can understand Applications which are running on Oracle then it will be useful.
