| what is the need of tablespace (logical memory) ? instead we are havinh the datafile (physical memory)? can any one answer this ? |

Tablespace is a logical storage unit and not a memory structure. Where as data file is a physical file in database file system occupying space on the server.

You can relate tablespace as FOLDER.You need FOLDER to arrange your files in logical manner.
